Virgin Atlantic and the Free Ticket….
Company founder Richard Branson even brought some of his irreverent tactics to USA, where Virgin-backed start-up Virgin America began flying earlier this year. Branson courted headlines when he invited Kyla Ebbert to fly for free on Virgin America — an invite that came after the scantily clad Hooters Girl had become embroiled in a wardrobe flap with discount giant Southwest. Ebbert accepted, as you might have expected, showing up in alongside the billionaire Branson last month for Virgin America’s inaugural Las Vegas flight — something that was described by the San Francisco Chronicle as a “dramatic entrance.” Actress Carmen Electra (shown here with Ebbert and Branson) also tagged along. In case you were wondering, the Chronicle explains that “while Branson and Electra were there to inform and entertain, Ebbert was there as a direct dig at Virgin’s archrival Southwest.”
